Magnetic mold clamping systems are now available from Hilma, designed specifically for plastic injection molding machines.

The new long pole technology uses double magnets to provide up to 20% more clamping force. The magnetic systems offer quick change of different size molds in a one minute changeover, without the need for retooling. The new system, M-TECS 130, withstands high temperatures up to 130¡ C (266¡F), and even higher temperatures can be achieved as a special order. A separate system is also available for higher temperature rubber injection and compression molding machines, as well as duroplastics processing.

Electrical power is required for only two seconds to unclamp. Permanent magnets mean clamp capacity is not affected by any power loss. As a result of a clamping force which is evenly distributed all over the clamping surface, tool wear is considerably reduced, which means lower tool maintenance costs. An intelligent safety system is utilized, with light signals to provide additional safety features.
