Email Server Settings

In the following instructions, substitute "yourdomain.com" for your internet domain name.

POP Server	mail.yourdomain.com
POP Port	110 (Default)
SMTP Server	mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Port	25 (Default)
SMTP Authentication	Required
Username	Same as your full email address (ex: yourname@yourdomain.com)

In addition to using any common email program, you may also check your email from anywhere with a web browser using the SmarterMail web interface. Further information about SmarterMail.

Virus Information

All email messages sent and received through Carr Lane Advertising's mail servers are scanned using TrendMicro ServerProtect antivirus software and infected messages are automatically removed. However, it is always a good practice to keep an actively updated antivirus program running on any PC to ensure an extra layer of security against internet viruses and worms.

Anti-Spam Measures

All incoming email messages to Carr Lane Advertising's mail servers are analyzed for spam using several techniques, including reverse DNS lookup, RBLs, and baysian filtering. This allows us to accurately remove much of the spam that would otherwise clutter your inbox without you having to do anything. However, since no filter is perfect, email that has tested "probable, but not certain" for spam will have a spam rating added to the subject line of the email but will not be automatically removed.
